Massages

We pride ourselves on an individual approach. Before every massage there is a short consultation where we agree on the area to be massaged, the pressure and the type of strokes.

We offer back, upper- and lower-limb, facial and scalp massages as well as relaxation massages. Our techniques come from the Faculty of Medicine massage course. We use individually warmed massage oil and jojoba oil for facial massage. The massage can be enhanced with cupping.

  • Stress & relaxation: A strong relaxing effect that reduces tension and supports overall balance.
  • Better circulation: Improved blood and lymph flow, tissue oxygenation and toxin removal.
  • Pain relief: Reduces muscle and joint pain and lowers the frequency of migraines.
  • Mobility: Increases the range of motion of joints and muscles for greater flexibility.
  • Stronger immunity: Stimulates the lymphatic system and boosts the body's resilience.
  • Mental wellbeing: Releases endorphins, lowers emotional stress and improves mood.
  • Faster healing: Speeds up tissue regeneration and recovery after injuries.
02

Kinesiotaping

Kinesiotape is a thin cotton fabric with elastic fibres — flexible yet firm. It is coated with a layer of medical resin for perfect adhesion to the skin. Hypoallergenic and latex-free.

The principle: influencing receptors in the skin that respond to tension in deeper layers. It allows free movement of the treated areas.

  • Muscle, joint and tendon pain
  • Faster healing: Reduces swelling, helps bruises heal, supports recovery after tendon inflammation and stabilises joints.
  • Flexibility: Increases muscle and joint flexibility and improves range of motion.
  • Proprioception: Strengthens proprioceptive abilities and improves movement control and stability.
  • Extends the effect of physiotherapy treatment.
03

Photobiomodulation

PBMT (photobiomodulation light therapy) uses low-level laser or LED light to influence cell function. It works with wavelengths that specifically stimulate cells and tissues.

We use technology from NuovoTherapy. We offer photobiomodulation for a one-off surcharge of 100 CZK on top of the massage — please note your interest when booking.

  • Improved cell metabolism: Higher energy production and faster healing.
  • Reduced inflammation: Proven anti-inflammatory effects.
  • Wound-healing support: Stimulates cellular processes for tissue repair.
  • Analgesia: Reduces pain and discomfort.
  • Aesthetics: Supports hair growth and improves skin condition.

Two friends,
one vision

We are Adam and Lukáš, who studied together and graduated from medical school. In our second year we completed the faculty massage course in the beautiful Krkonoše mountains.

On the way home to Moravia, our car broke down in Litomyšl. While we waited for the tow truck (and blocked a roundabout), we thought about what to do with our massage course.

Two months later we opened a massage studio on Národní třída. At first the two of us did all the massages, then classmates — fellow graduates of the massage course — joined us.

After 4 years on Národní we took over a massage studio in the Diplomat Hotel in Dejvice. In the meantime we graduated — we now work as a surgeon and a neurologist.

Relaxation massage is one of the most popular types of massage we offer at TheMed. Unlike a regenerative massage, which targets specific problem areas, a relaxation massage is designed to relax the whole body and mind.

What is a relaxation massage?

A relaxation massage uses gentle, flowing strokes across the whole body. The goal isn't to work the deep muscle layers but to create a sense of wellbeing, release tension and balance the body.

How does the massage work?

Before every massage there is a short consultation to agree on your preferences. The massage takes place in the pleasant setting of our studio on Národní třída. We use quality massage oils, individually warmed.

Benefits of a relaxation massage

Regular relaxation massage helps lower stress-hormone levels, improves sleep quality, releases muscle tension and supports overall mental wellbeing. Many clients say they sleep much better afterwards.

Who is it for?

A relaxation massage suits almost everyone — whether you're stressed from work, need to rest or simply want to do something nice for yourself. No medical reason is needed.

A couples massage is a great way to relax and unwind together. At TheMed on Národní třída you can share a professional massage experience with your partner, a friend or even a colleague.

What is a couples massage?

In a couples massage, two clients are massaged at the same time in the same room by two masseurs. Each receives an individual massage tailored to their needs — one might have a regenerative back massage while the other has a full-body relaxation massage.

As a gift

A couples massage makes a great gift for couples, anniversaries, birthdays or Valentine's Day. You can order a couples-massage gift voucher from us at info@themed.cz.

Booking

For a couples massage you need to book two appointments at the same time. Add a note when booking that it's a couples massage — we'll make sure both masseurs are available at once.

We look forward to seeing you on Národní třída!

Taping, or kinesiotaping, is a modern therapeutic technique that has become very popular not only among athletes but also among ordinary people with musculoskeletal pain. At TheMed on Národní třída we offer professional kinesiotaping by medical-faculty students.

What is kinesiotaping?

Kinesiotape is a special elastic tape applied to the skin. Unlike traditional rigid tapes, it's very flexible and allows a full range of motion. The tape is hypoallergenic and contains no latex or active substances — the entire effect is purely mechanical and neurological.

How does kinesiotaping work?

The tape acts on receptors in the skin that are connected to deeper structures — muscles, tendons and joints. This influences muscle tone, improves proprioception and supports lymphatic drainage. The result is reduced pain, less swelling and support for natural healing.

Who does kinesiotaping help?

Kinesiotaping is suitable for back and neck pain, tendon inflammation, sports injuries, swelling after injuries, joint instability and chronic musculoskeletal pain. It can also be applied to prevent overload during sport.

Kinesiotaping at TheMed

Our masseurs are medical-faculty students with an excellent knowledge of anatomy. A short consultation precedes the application of the tape. The price is 300 CZK including materials; for further applications, 100 CZK/10 minutes + 2 CZK/cm of tape.

Looking for a quality massage in Prague city centre? TheMed is a massage studio run by medical students from the Faculty of Medicine. We offer professional massages at our studio on Národní třída (National Avenue) in Prague 1.

Why Choose TheMed?

All our masseurs are students of general medicine who have completed a professional massage course at the Faculty of Medicine. This means you get care from people who truly understand the human body — its anatomy, physiology and biomechanics.

Our Services

Regenerative massage — Full body or back massage focused on releasing muscle tension and promoting recovery. 60 min from 900 CZK, 90 min from 1200 CZK.

Kinesiotaping — Application of therapeutic elastic tape for muscle and joint support. From 300 CZK including materials.

Photobiomodulation — Light therapy using NuovoTherapy technology to enhance healing and reduce inflammation. Available as an add-on (+100 CZK).

Prague has a huge number of massage salons and studios. But how do you choose the right one? In this guide we'll tell you what to watch out for and why a massage by medical-faculty students is a unique choice.

Types of massage available in Prague

Regenerative massage — The most popular type, focused on releasing muscle tension, improving circulation and overall recovery. Ideal after sport or a demanding week at work.

Relaxation massage — A gentle full-body massage designed to create calm and wellbeing. It lowers stress and improves sleep quality.

Back massage — Targeted work on the back, neck and shoulders. Very popular with people who work at a computer.

Kinesiotaping — A modern therapeutic technique using elastic tape. It helps with sport, rehabilitation and chronic pain.

What to look for in a good massage salon

The masseurs' qualifications are key. A certified masseur should have a professional course and a knowledge of anatomy. An individual approach, a pre-massage consultation and a pleasant environment are other important factors.

Why TheMed?

TheMed is unique because our masseurs are general medicine students with a Faculty of Medicine massage course. They understand the human body on a different level than an ordinary masseur. We're in central Prague on Národní třída — easy to reach by metro or tram.

A 5-star Google rating from hundreds of happy clients speaks for itself.
